In today`s society, where stress related, psychological and physiological health problems are common, massage plays a significant therapeutic role.

To increase your health and wellbeing, a regular massage relaxes the body and mind. It can resolve soft tissue pain caused by strain or injury and eliminates the production of stress chemicals in the body from day to day living.

Relaxation

Relaxation massage focuses on stress release. The techniques are soothing, but will hone in on any muscle tightness present.  It consists of gentle to medium pressure of the hands to the body, gently manipulating the tissue to promote relaxation. It is not designed for working the deeper muscles of the body, but just a gentle kneading and stroking of the outer layers of the body tissue using oil so there is no pulling of the skin.  During the massage, you can remain quiet and simply explore your own personal thoughts. The length of the massage will depend on how long you would like it to last. Typically the option is between half an hour to one and half hours in length. Everyone deserves a well needed moment of relaxation and this massage is just the right technique for that. It will relax your mind and body, giving you a break from the stresses of life.

ConnectiveTissue

Connective tissue massage is a form of intense massage that aims to release myofascial (connective tissue) restrictions in the body, and to break up any restrictive scar tissue. It has also been known to help relieve chronic tension, to increase the body's range of motion, to improve posture and to enhance the natural harmony of the entire body and mind.

Connective tissue massage is also said to restore the length and flexibility to the fiberous tissue that surrounds the muscles and organs by normalizing the tissue and improving the strength and overall health of the connective tissues throughout the entire body.

Connective tissue massage borrows many of its techniques from traditional Swedish massage. However the pressure applied during a connective tissue massage is more intense. The strokes of this type of massage are slower with more pressure to slowly warm the muscle tissue and reach the deeper layers of muscle.  Having a  connective tissue massage shouldn't cause any pain and I ask my clients to tell me immediately if the stroke pressure is too intense.

Treatments take place on a massage table on bare skin with the body draped except for the area being worked on.  Deep tissue work usually focuses on specific areas and may cause some soreness during or after the session, however, you should feel better within a day or two. Water helps to eliminate toxins from the body so it is important to drink plenty of water after any massage treatment to help this process along.

OnSite Chair Massage

A stiff neck. Aching wrists. Shoulders that feel as if someone folded them up. Anyone who has ever sat behind a desk all day will recognize the symptoms of workplace fatigue. Most office-related physical symptoms can be attributed to loss of circulation. Tight muscles caused by stress and sitting behind a desk all day, especially at a work station that is not ergonomically designed, can impede blood and lymph flow through the body. The result is mental fogginess, decreased energy and susceptibility to repetitive stress injuries, like carpal tunnel syndrome.

Chair massage counters the circulatory problems inherent with office work—and provide a appreciated break for employees. Sitting in a massage chair opens up the back muscles, relieves strain on the neck and provides a gentle respite for eyes usually glued to a computer monitor. Even 15 minutes of massage to the neck, back, arms and hands can increase circulation, returning energy levels and helping keep the body injury free.

When chair massage is used preventively, if you have problems it allows you to maintain a homeostatic balance that prevents the little problems from getting worse.
